Mr. Dawood appears regularly in both state and federal courts, AAA and JAMS arbitration proceedings, and has also argued matters before the National Association of Securities Dealers and other administrative tribunals.
- Defending national retailer in two federal class action suits alleging willful violation of the Federal Fair and Accurate Credit Reporting Act (FACTA)
- Defending large Japanese electronics manufacturer in nationwide antitrust class actions consolidated by the Multi-District Litigation Panel in the Northern District of California
- Defended Chinese fiber-optic cable manufacturer against multi-million dollar breach of contract allegations in JAMS arbitration hearing
- Prosecuted and defended financial institutions and other businesses in theft of trade secret claims in state and federal court and in arbitration proceedings
- Defended international software company in licensing dispute
- Defended major hospital in AAA arbitration proceeding alleging fraud, negligence, and unfair business practices claims
- Defended financial institution against alleged federal security law violations in arbitration before the National Association of Securities Dealers and on appeal before 9th Circuit Court of Appeal
- Defended large hospital against damages claim arising from denial of physician staff privileges
- Defended provider of durable medical goods in government investigations of Medicare and MediCal fraud
- Defended employers against employee wrongful termination claims
- Defended officers and directors of corporations against breach of fiduciary duty claims
- Defended health insurance plan against breach of contract and fraud claims and prevailed on cross-claim
- Defended advertising agency against breach of contract claims
- Represented telecommunications provider in eminent domain actions
