Mr. Diaz concentrates his practice in health law, health care compliance, and health care transactional matters.
Representative Experience
Mr. Diaz represents a wide variety of health care organizations, including hospitals, physician organizations, integrated delivery systems, ambulatory surgery centers, home health agencies, hospices, and health plans, with an emphasis in regulatory, compliance and transactional matters.
He has served as lead counsel in the following representations:
- Defense of health care organizations in investigations and prosecutions by federal, state, and local health care regulatory and other governmental agencies; counseling of health care organizations in fraud and abuse, Stark, false claims, billing and reimbursement, EMTALA, licensing, managed care, peer review, treatment of homeless patients, and other regulatory and compliance matters.
- Structure and negotiation of joint ventures, acquisitions, affiliations, contracts, and other transactions between and among hospitals, physicians, medical groups, ambulatory surgery centers, independent practice associations, home health agencies, and managed care plans.
- Formation of hospital-physician integrated delivery systems, physician organizations, and other provider networks.
