Negotiated and closed acquisitions of a five-building suburban office park valued at $55,000,000 and three urban office buildings in Seattle valued in excess of $100,000,000, including land use and environmental due diligence
Managed a team of lawyers responsible for all real estate and liquor licensing matters in the acquisition of a chain of more than 70 restaurants in five states, including lease reviews, title and survey work, and obtaining landlord and lender consents
Drafted and negotiated a lease of 55,000 square feet of build-to-suit laboratory space and a shared laboratory facilities agreement with another building occupant
Represented developer assembling real estate, developing and leasing an 850,000 square foot office building and a 500,000 square foot suburban office park
Structured a complex tri-party agreement canceling a tenant’s lease and releasing the space to a new tenant
Represented tenant in a build-to-suit lease of a 150,000 square foot industrial facility
Organized a team of lawyers conducting seller’s due diligence in the sale of an office building with more than 100 tenants
Assist tenants and landlords with interpretation and enforcement of lease terms
Prior Experience
In-house corporate counsel at a national retail/restaurant chain, focusing on retail leasing and construction. Representative work included: documentation and closing company’s first ground-up construction project, including hiring environmental consultants and negotiating hazardous waste indemnities; negotiation of retail leases for spaces in regional malls, strip centers and stand-alone sites throughout the United States and British Columbia; and investigation and resolution of lease disputes.
