Jaime Drozd is the Managing Partner of Davis Wright Tremaine. Her vision is for DWT to be the place where the most talented lawyers and professional staff want to build careers, and the firm that clients want to hire for their best and most interesting work.

Jaime is invested in the growth of the firm, including its nationwide expertise in its industry teams focused on Energy, Media/Entertainment, Financial Services/FinTech, Food and Beverage, Healthcare, and Technology; as well as geographic growth in its offices. She is eager to continue to lead DWT in its tradition of first-rate client service and subject matter expertise, while providing the best legal solutions to their clients.

To achieve those goals, Jaime works alongside lawyers and business professionals who are committed to providing the highest level of service while fostering a people-focused culture where we value diversity, equity, and inclusion, give back to our communities, and preserve the ability to achieve both professional success and fulfilling personal lives.

Prior to becoming Managing Partner, Jaime served as the firmwide co-chair of DWT's Litigation Practice and Vice-Chair of the firmwide Executive Committee.

Jaime's practice focuses on complex commercial litigation, advising and defending clients against a variety of consumer class actions, including putative class actions based on trademark, consumer protection statutes, employment issues, and privacy. From pre-suit advice and early-exit strategies, to dogged litigation and motions practice to vindicate clients' positions, Jaime handles all aspects of class action lawsuits to ensure that clients' objectives and goals are met.

She has represented clients ranging from large international companies to small, family-owned businesses and sole proprietorships. Jaime also advises clients on a partnership and corporate governance disputes, and trust and estate litigation.

Received outside recognition for her litigation skills as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" in Commercial Litigation by Best Lawyers for 2022.

Partnership and corporate governance disputes

Represents businesses on partnership and corporate governance disputes including dissolution, receiverships, and obligations under limited liability agreements.

Selected Class Action Experience

Corker v. Costco Wholesale Corporation et al.

Represented several defendants against claims that they unlawfully used the term "Kona" on coffee product labels, falsely suggesting that the product was made with coffee grown in the Kona district of Hawaii. Secured decision holding that Section 43(a)(1)(B) of the Lanham Act is not "intellectual property" exempt from protections of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. (W.D. Wash. 2023)

Selected Partnership and Corporate Governance Matters

Represented corporation and its officers in dispute over joint venture

Represented national agriculture corporation and its president in litigation in multiple state and federal courts in dispute with joint-venture partner over alleged mismanagement of corporation, breach of fiduciary duty, self-dealing, and negligence. Successfully granted summary judgment after dismissal for lack of jurisdiction; defeated motion for appointment of receiver; defeated multiple motions for preliminary injunctions; and upheld dismissal on appeal. (W.D. Wash., E.D. Wash., King Cnty. (Wash.) Super Ct., United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit 2017-2019)

Ezion v. Teras Cargo Transport

Represented Singaporean shipping company bringing breach of contract claims. Defended against security claims and negligent representation counterclaims. Settled favorably. (2017)

Represented individual shareholders in dispute alleging self-dealing and breach of fiduciary duty

Represented individual shareholders in action against majority partner for breach of fiduciary duty. Successfully resolved at mediation. (King Cnty. (Wash.) Super. Ct. 2017)
