Derek D. Green
Counsel
Derek Green is an energy attorney who represents and counsels clients on regulatory transactions and compliance as well as commercial disputes. Routinely working with clients in the renewable energy, manufacturing, and financial sectors, his goal is to help clients put their best foot forward–whether that is before an appellate court, a government agency, or across the table of a boardroom.
His practice encompasses regulatory and transactional matters related to utility-scale and portfolio energy projects and operations. He advises independent power producers, utilities, investors and industrial consumers in project development, operations and acquisitions. Derek commonly manages local aspects of project finance and tax equity deals in the renewables sector where he is able to draw on the vast experience of his specialized colleagues to provide clients with both the "big picture" and technical requirements for their projects. His clients further include companies in the solar, wind, storage, and biofuel sectors engaged in contested and regulatory proceedings.
Derek frequently writes and advises on the changing legal landscape surrounding local energy policy and climate change. He also has extensive experience in media and appellate litigation.
