In honor of Women's History Month, Davis Wright Tremaine's Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is proud to welcome Sharon McMahon on Monday, March 24 at 12:00 pm PT / 3:00 pm ET. This program is part of our regular Monthly DEI Education Series and is eligible for DEI Billable Credit.
McMahon, author of The Small and the Mighty, which topped The New York Times bestseller list, and founder of The Preamble, has made a significant impact by transforming confusion into clarity and inspiring change. She is known as "America's Government Teacher" for her efforts to combat political misinformation. Her ability to break down complex topics with humor and a commitment to facts has resulted in a community of followers, affectionately known as the "Governerds." McMahon celebrates the unsung heroes who have shaped America, and her philanthropic efforts have raised millions of dollars to address critical needs across the country.
During this program, we will delve into the traits that make individuals effective during times of hardship and social change. We will explore the moral and ethical obligations we face, particularly as women, in enacting systemic change, and learn more from McMahon's experience as a former high school government and law teacher. This event will be moderated by the Women Attorneys Affinity Group co-chair and partner in our healthcare practice group, Darby Allen.
