DECEMBER 11, 2018 – Based on the firm's significant success promoting diversity and inclusion within its partnership and leadership ranks, Davis Wright Tremaine was named the top performer in Microsoft's 2018 Law Firm Diversity Program (LFDP).
Now in its tenth year, the LFDP encourages increased diversity among Microsoft's major law firm partners by providing a financial incentive to those that reach certain diversity targets. Microsoft strengthened the program in 2015 with an increased focus on metrics around firm leadership.
"Davis Wright Tremaine met or surpassed expectations for all of this year's LFDP metrics," said Microsoft general counsel and corporate vice-president Dev Stahlkopf in a blog post published this morning. Those metrics include management committee diversity, firmwide partnership diversity, and diversity of partners working on Microsoft matters.

Microsoft and DWT have created a video highlighting the success of the Microsoft program and showcasing some of the DWT lawyers who provide service to the company.
Davis Wright Tremaine is regularly recognized as a diversity leader in the legal industry. Earlier this year, Law360 named DWT one of the country's best firms for women and minority lawyers, noting that the firm is one of just five in BigLaw (those with 300+ lawyers) having "above-average representation of both women and minorities at every level."
The firm has been named to Working Mother magazine's list of the 50 Best Law Firms for Women each of the past five years and was one of just 18 firms nationwide to meet all of the 2018 Gold Certification benchmarks of the Women in Law Empowerment Forum. The firm also received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's 2018 Corporate Equality Index, recognizing Davis Wright as one of the country's Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality for the fifth consecutive year.
