JUNE 7, 2022 – In its latest guide to the U.S. legal market, Chambers USA recognized Davis Wright Tremaine as a national leader in 12 practice areas and awarded the firm a regional Band 1 ranking in 18 more.
Chambers also called out the firm's exceptional strength in gender diversity. Davis Wright was one of just three firms nationwide that Chambers recognized for having the highest female-to-male ratio among its top-ranked lawyers.
Chambers rankings are based on research gathered through extensive in-depth interviews with in-house counsel, industry experts, and distinguished private practice attorneys. Lawyers and practice teams are assessed for "technical ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client."
Highlights of Davis Wright's 2022 Chambers rankings include the following:
- Chambers awarded a Band 1 ranking to 51 DWT lawyers. More than 40 percent of those are women.
- Reflecting Davis Wright's substantive depth, Chambers listed a total of 107 firm lawyers across 47 practice areas as leading lawyers for business. Twenty-one DWT lawyers were newly added or elevated and 20 lawyers were ranked in more than one category.
- In its Nationwide rankings, Chambers recognized Davis Wright's national leadership in several key industry sectors:
- The firm was newly ranked in Financial Services Regulation: Banking (Compliance), one of just 13 firms recognized in the category. Davis Wright was also named a leading firm in Chambers FinTech, released earlier this year.
- The firm's advertising practice was one of just four nationwide named preeminent in representing clients before the National Advertising Division.
- The firm was newly recognized as Highly Regarded in Healthcare.
- Davis Wright's Food + Beverage team was once again the only one in the country ranked in both nationwide categories covering this industry—Alcohol and Regulatory & Litigation.
- The firm once again dominated the tables for First Amendment Litigation, with more lawyers nationally ranked than any other firm. The firm is also home to one of only two "Star" practitioners (Chambers' highest designation) in this field.
