AUGUST 31, 2022 – Bradford Hardin of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP, who’s led the development and expansion of a nationally recognized financial services practice, has been named a 2022 D.C. Rising Star by the National Law Journal (NLJ).
The Rising Star series annually honors the top legal talent in the nation's capital, age 40 and under.
"Few industries are undergoing as radical a transformation as financial services and Bradford has helped establish our firm as an essential advisor to this fast-changing industry," said Chip English, Davis Wright’s Washington, D.C., partner in charge. "He has deep expertise, strong vision, indomitable team ethic, and a commitment to marshalling legal resources for good. We’re extremely proud to have him as a colleague."
With eight of the 10 largest banks, and a half-dozen of the leading fintechs, among its clients, Davis Wright's financial services group, co-chaired by Hardin, helps clients solve regulatory problems, innovate, and drive business forward. The group recently doubled in size with the addition of McGonigle, an elite, 40+-lawyer securities boutique. Hardin helped spearhead that combination, which is the largest law firm merger year-to-date and dramatically scaled-up Davis Wright's ability to handle clients' most consequential financial services matters.
Hardin has made DEI and community service a central focus of his efforts. Under his leadership, Davis Wright has been honored by Discover (2020), U.S. Bank (2021) and Citi (2022) as the top firm, among these clients' respective panels, for advancing DEI in the legal industry. Davis Wright was also selected for U.S. Bank's "Spotlight on Talent" program, in which seven diverse, early-career lawyers had an opportunity to showcase their expertise to the full bank legal department.
Hardin is a significant booster of the firm's nationally recognized pro bono program as well. Partnering with clients to magnify impact is a key part of the program's toolkit and Hardin has been a key player in this effort, helping to make initiatives such as this year's Financial Institutions Pro Bono Day a tremendous success.
Hardin received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Alabama and his J.D., summa cum laude, from University of Alabama School of Law. He joined Davis Wright in 2018.
