NOV. 6, 2023 – The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) has recognized Davis Wright Tremaine LLP as a leader in building a more inclusive legal profession and honored the firm with two awards for its work with the organization.
The firm was named to LCLD's 2023 list of Top Performers, which recognizes those organizations in the top 20% for participation in LCLD programs and activities. The firm was also named a winner of LCLD's 2023 Compass Award, which recognizes organizations that have hit a number of benchmarks in their LCLD participation.
These benchmarks include:
- Managing partner engagement. Davis Wright's firmwide managing partner, Scott MacCormack, has supported LCLD this year with efforts that include hosting a community service event at our office, together with Microsoft, during the 12th Annual LCLD Alumni Leadership Symposium in Seattle.
- Nominate an LCLD Fellow. Jibraun Riaz, a litigator in our Los Angeles office, is serving as the firm's LCLD Fellow this year.
- Nominate an LCLD Pathfinder. Davis Wright's Pathfinders this year are Tiffanie de la Riva, an employment lawyer in our San Francisco office, and Kara Trowell, a privacy and security lawyer in our New York office.
- Participate in an LCLD Pipeline Program. Davis Wright is a strong participant in the LCLD's 1L Scholars Program as well as the Success in Law School Mentoring Program.
Davis Wright has been widely recognized as a DEI leader. The firm's recent recognition from clients includes the T-Mobile 2023 Excellence in Diversity Award, the 2022 Citi Law Firm Diversity Champion Award, and the 2021 U.S. Bank Invested in Diversity Award. The firm's "Bias Interrupter" program was recently shortlisted by The Financial Times Innovative Lawyers North America 2023 Awards in the category of Innovation in People Skills and Development.
