OCT. 2, 2024 – Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has achieved "Mansfield Certification Plus" for the fifth year in a row, recognizing the firm's dedication to elevating lawyers from underrepresented backgrounds into positions of leadership.
"Five years is an amazing achievement but no surprise—we've long been committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture, and it remains a key component of our strategy," said Jaime Drozd, recently named Davis Wright's managing partner. She is the first woman to take the helm in the firm's 80-year history.
The Mansfield Certification process measures law firms' adherence to the Mansfield Rule. Under the rule, firms pledge to affirmatively consider at least 30% women, underrepresented racial/ethnic groups, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitch opportunities, and senior lateral positions. Certification is achieved through a rigorous 12-month collaboration with Diversity Lab.
Mansfield Certification Plus status indicates that in addition to meeting or exceeding the baseline requirements, the firm has reached at least 30% underrepresented lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles.
Davis Wright continues to be widely recognized for its national DEI leadership, most recently by Law360 as one of the legal industry's top five "Ceiling Smashers"—recognizing the firm's high representation of women among its equity partners—and by Bloomberg Law's 2024 DEI Framework.
