OCTOBER 21, 2024 – Law360 has named Davis Wright Tremaine LLP to its 2024 table of Social Impact Leaders, the firm's fourth straight year receiving the honor. Among the legal industry's biggest firms, DWT was ranked number 14.
DWT increased its score across four of the five social impact metrics measured by Law360. These include:
- Racial and ethnic diversity – i.e., how firms' racial and ethnic diversity among attorneys at all levels compares to the potential marketplace of hires;
- Gender equality – i.e., how firms' proportion of women among attorneys at all levels compares to the potential marketplace of hires;
- Employee engagement – i.e., turnover rate;
- Pro bono service – i.e., percentage of attorneys who performed at least 50 hours of pro bono work;
- Responsible business – i.e., whether the firm has a U.S. practice focusing on sustainability and environmental, social and corporate governance concerns, and whether the firm advised clients on making their operations compliant with environmental regulations; whether the firm's U.S. attorneys completed pro bono work in certain areas; and the ratio of a firm's charitable contributions to its total number of attorneys.
The rankings reflect DWT's outsize strength in social impact—the firm is the smallest among those that placed in the top 15.
