Davis Wright Tremaine (DWT) has recently joined the advisory board of the RAMP Advanced Commerce and Mobile Retail Services Summit (www.retailramp.com), an organization focused on bringing together retailers, restaurants and industry executives to debate the full spectrum of mobile commerce and mobile retail services as well as discuss the development and implementation of omni-channel strategies. The addition of DWT to the organization’s board ensures that highly relevant and strategically critical legal developments in the mobile payments and marketing spaces will be a prominent part of the program at the bi-annual RAMP conferences, which take place in Chicago in April and October each year.
“The intersection of mobile, payments, and marketing is fascinating and constantly evolving, but it’s also fraught with potential pitfalls for retailers who aren’t up to speed on the pertinent regulatory requirements,” notes DWT partner Andrew Lorentz, a member of the firm’s Payments team who will fill the board seat. “RAMP attracts a very high-profile group of retailers, and we look forward to not only being able to help educate them about how to maximize the potential of mobile commerce, but learning about the challenges they face from a competitive standpoint and the innovate strategies they’re employing to differentiate themselves.”
Other RAMP advisory board members include representatives from Walt Disney, Choice Hotels, Walgreens, Citi, PayPal, and more.
