For Project W, this Women's History Month was all about celebrating women who are exercising their power to make a difference with a series of events at SXSW. Learn more about what we were up to in Austin and get to know the twelve impressive women founders selected to present at this year's Founded In Texas investor feedback session.

💥 Power of the Purse:

Project W teamed up with our valued partners, True Wealth Ventures and J.P. Morgan, to host our third annual SXSW dinner for women fund managers. By sharing investment theses and building relationships, the 23 women investors at the table are exercising the collective power of their purse to invest in companies the world needs and to empower the founders they want to see lead those companies.

💥 Power of the Raise:

In collaboration with Goldenrod Ventures, HearstLab, ESPN, and Carta, Project W hosted our second women founders and funders poker evening led by the amazing team from Poker Power. Players learned how to read the intentions of people across the table, when to pass and cut their losses, and, importantly, how to evaluate and manage risk to make strategic and big bets. Raising your bet strategically and impactfully is something women founders and funders know a lot about, and exercising that skill is more critical now than ever.

💥 Power of the Next Generation of Startup CEOs:

Celebrating its 6th year, Founded in Texas has been a cornerstone event for many talented founders to gain actionable and substantive feedback from investors. This year, Project W collaborated with The Artemis Fund (Juliette Richert), HearstLab, and Brown Advisory to showcase twelve accomplished women founders of Texas-based companies who are driving change for the better. The event concluded with a brunch hosted by Juniper Square which was attended by many champions and supporters of women founders.

We're excited to see how the connections made and insights gained last week will amplify the power of the Project W community to drive positive change.

In the meantime, we hope you will get to know the founders who pitched at Founded In Texas this year and support them along their entrepreneurial journey.
