Anastasia Alen negotiates high-priority deals and transactions while providing strategic guidance for media and entertainment companies, independent producers, brands, and other content creators across critical stages of development, production, and exploitation.
Anastasia's practice includes all aspects of production legal (including drafting, structuring, and negotiating above-the-line, below-the-line, vendor, and other contracts; day-to-day counseling, strategic analysis, and risk management); agreement form creation, review, and analysis; high-level production legal oversight; content review; on-set legal counseling; content license review, analysis, and negotiation; rights analysis and contract interpretation; and other business and legal affairs services on an as-needed basis.
Anastasia leverages her unique combination of first-hand experience working for leading global entertainment companies and premier talent agencies to provide comprehensive business and legal counsel to clients. Her specialized knowledge enables Anastasia to anticipate issues and protect the legal, business, and creative interests of her clients, maximizing opportunities and advancing their goals. She also co-chairs RiseTogether, a DWT Project W initiative that brings together women in business and legal affairs in the media and entertainment industries.
Prior to joining DWT, Anastasia was vice president and a senior business affairs executive at William Morris Endeavor where she serviced the agency's multi-hyphenate and international clients including intellectual property rights holders, producers, writers, directors, and on-camera talent by structuring and leading the negotiation and closing process of high-profile deals. Additionally, her breadth of business affairs and legal experience in the entertainment industry includes serving as in-house counsel for Sony Pictures Entertainment. While at Sony, Anastasia worked on development and production legal transactions for the studio's theatrical motion picture divisions including Columbia Pictures and as point production attorney for Screen Gems.
