Healthcare Industry Summit 2025

John is a partner in our healthcare practice.

John Barnes brings over 20 years of experience with managed healthcare issues to the DWT healthcare practice group. He has represented numerous major healthcare providers across the country, focusing on negotiating, implementing, and enforcing managed care arrangements.

Whether he is negotiating directly with payers, or serving in a trusted advisor role, John brings a keen understanding of national trends in managed care. With these insights, he advises his provider clients along every step of the client-payer relationship. From early stages, the development of go-to-market strategies, redefining payer-client relationships if necessary, pre-litigation strategies, or post- termination processes, John has earned his clients' trust by navigating them towards a better market standing and improved revenue cycle.

In addition to his managed care transactions practice, John frequently serves as lead or advisory counsel in managed care litigation matters, with amounts in dispute in excess of $100 million.

John also advises clients on CARES Act and No Surprises Act compliance.

Through live speaking engagements and webinars, John provides thought leadership to the legal community. He has earned recognition from such organizations as Legal 500 and Super Lawyers.
