Christopher Byer is a commercial litigator representing clients from a broad range of industries in complex commercial and contractual litigation matters. He has defended multimillion-dollar disputes in all stages of litigation, from investigations through trial and appeal, including as a second-chair attorney at trial. He has advised clients on litigation matters involving trade secrets, online privacy policies, breach of contract, negligence, misappropriation, and other challenges.
Before joining DWT, Christopher was a law clerk for the Hon. Brian R. Whitney in the 2nd Judicial District of Colorado, Denver.

Successfully secured the complete dismissal of all claims against his client, who was wrongfully accused of misappropriating proprietary information, the eve before trial. (Dist. Colo. 2023)

Hired a month before trial, won a defense verdict in Texas for an oil and gas company in a $20 million personal injury case. (Tarrant Cnty. Dist. Ct. Tex. 2022)
National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, PA v. The Estate of Stephen Calendine, D.D.S. et al.*
Successfully moved the court for summary judgment on issues of insurance coverage. (D. Colo. 2022)
Abeyta v. Horton*
Won a favorable jury verdict in a $350 million personal injury trial for a motorcyclist accused of negligence causing passenger's catastrophic injuries. His efforts compelled the jury to find his client just 5% liable and assign 95% of the liability to another party. (Dist. Colo. 2022)
Jojola v. Cordova; Jojola v. Yeakel; Jojola v. Frankland*
Won a permanent restraining order—as well as the subsequent appeal—for an individual and their employer against members of a hate organization. Served as first chair in the hearing and handled all witness examinations. (Denver Cnty. Dist. Ct. Colo. 2020)
