Jason Froggatt helps employers and plan sponsors simplify the complex world of employee benefit-plan compliance to ensure their plans provide benefits tailored to the needs of their workforce. Working with a wide range of clients, Jason applies the experience of complex multibillion-dollar plans and cutting-edge startups to find practical, customized solutions for all clients. Jason has represented public and private employers, government contractors, technology companies, and healthcare companies for more than 20 years.

Jason works extensively with large defined-contribution and defined-benefit plans, including collective-bargained plans, on plan qualification and fiduciary duties. He also regularly counsels multiple employer welfare arrangements (MEWAs), associated health plans (AHPs), and other group health plans and their plan sponsors with respect to ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA compliance. Jason represents employee plans and plan sponsors with the U.S. Department of Labor and the Internal Revenue Service.


Practice Highlights

Government contractors

Working extensively with Department of Energy contractors with respect to administration and compliance issues for site-wide benefit plans.

Association health plans

Helping establish and maintain association health plans (AHPs) and multiple employer welfare arrangements (MEWAs), including ERISA and state insurance law compliance.

Healthcare providers

Working with public and private employers on the unique design and compliance issues facing healthcare providers, including working with governmental plans, collectively bargained plans and complex control group and affiliated service group issues.

Department of Energy site services

Helped establish and provides ongoing counseling for multiple employer plans and trusts for government contractors at Department of Energy sites.

Retiree medical benefits

Extensive experience with retiree medical issues and has provided counseling to clients migrating retiree medical benefits to exchange platforms.

IRS audits and DOL investigations

Regularly represents employer plans and plan sponsors in inquiries from IRS and DOL. (Ongoing)
