Christian Howard-Sukhil works in the firm's technology, communications, and privacy and security group, where her work focuses on technology transactions. She received a certificate in law and technology from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
Before joining DWT, Christian worked for an authors advocacy group, where she researched how authors and scholars are affected by the Text and Data Mining (TDM) exemption to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). She was also a graduate research associate for a professor in the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic at UC Berkeley, conducting research on complex copyright and telecommunication issues. Christian's interest in the intersection between law, technology, and the arts is bolstered by her education—prior to law school, Christian received a Ph.D. in English literature and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the digital humanities, during which she analyzed issues related to AI, virtual and augmented reality, social media, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
