Samantha Hunt
Associate
Sam Hunt leverages her project management and engineering leadership experience to help clients efficiently protect their intellectual property and defend against claims of patent infringement. From filing post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) to breach of fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory (FRAND) contractual commitment counterclaims, Sam takes a proactive approach to resolving patent infringement disputes. She has experience handling complex patent litigation in U.S. district courts nationwide, the PTAB, and the International Trade Commission (ITC), as well as coordinating with foreign counsel on co-pending international patent litigation.
Sam holds a masters in aeronautical engineering and spent a decade working in the aviation industry. Experience in this and other technical fields – including semiconductors, software, video/audio codecs, life sciences, data security, and structural analysis – enhances her patent litigation practice. She helps a wide range of clients navigate every stage of litigation, handling invalidity and noninfringement analysis and defense, claim construction, discovery, expert reports and witnesses, and FRAND licensing issues. Sam also has successfully invalidated patents in IPR proceedings before the PTAB and obtained key victories for her clients at the claim construction and summary judgment stages.
While pursuing her J.D., Sam was an IP consultant who advised entrepreneurs on patents, trademarks, copyright, and trade secret concerns as well as patent prosecution with the USPTO.
