Arthur Kats
Attorney
Arthur is on a client-dedicated team.
Arthur Kats is an attorney with the firm's litigation group. A seasoned litigator and transactional attorney with legal experience on both coasts, Arthur provides clients with practical and actionable support and advice in a range of contexts, including third-party discovery, enforcement of judgments and garnishments, class actions, complex regulatory document review, compliance, small claims, and arbitrations.
Arthur leverages past experience in law firm and nonprofit spaces to inform his practice, where he handled all aspects of litigation and appeals in state and federal courts, including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, depositions, motion practice, court conferences, and appellate briefs. He is a skilled legal researcher, writer, and presenter with a deep understanding of civil procedure, contract law, commercial leasing, and class actions.
His transactional experience includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including technology and vendor agreements, as well as business formation documents and commercial leases.
Outside of his daily practice, Arthur is an economic justice advocate for small business owners in underserved communities, engaging in pro bono services, community legal education, fundraising, and efforts to expand language access in the justice system. He has volunteered his legal expertise in immigration, asylum, and housing services in the nation's largest metro areas; worked on a bias incident reporting project for New York's ACLU affiliate; served as a legal observer for federal elections in Florida; and offered counsel for community development projects and COVID-19 crisis intervention and recovery initiatives.
