Matt Ladew is part of the firm's litigation team, focusing on class actions and other complex commercial litigation. Matt has experience managing a variety of legal disputes, including consumer class actions, data privacy matters, actions brought under California's Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and arbitrations. Matt handles all stages of litigation, preparing his clients through trial, settlements, and appeals, and works with companies to develop strategies to avoid litigation altogether. Matt previously served as a law clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th and 11th Circuits and for the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona.

Secured receivership over roughly $100 million in client collateral

Filed lawsuit and obtained receivership over pistachio crop and farm to be timely harvested to recuperate client assets.

Won early dismissals of numerous cases alleging avocado oil adulteration

Filed various successful motions to dismiss for several clients in different courts based on claims of adulteration in avocado oil.

Obtained preliminary injunction in federal court against Colorado banking law

Obtained preliminary injunction prohibiting Colorado from imposing its interest-rate caps on other states.

Second-chaired successful arbitration hearing in negligent misrepresentation claim

Secured award for client to pay nothing and obtained court judgment enforcing award.

Earned summary judgment in defamation and false light case involving union leaders

Won total summary judgment for our clients; pending motion for attorneys' fees.
