Paula Lehmann has been representing employers in complex employment matters for more than 20 years in both California and Washington. She divides her work between employment litigation and all facets of labor relations counseling. Paula has extensive experience in both single-plaintiff and class action litigation, collective bargaining, arbitrations, strategic labor planning, and counseling employers in preventive employment practices.
Paula has represented Crane Electronics, King County Library System, Pepsi Bottling Group, Pitney Bowes, Providence Health & Services, Seattle Symphony, Skagit Regional Health, University of Puget Sound, and Yakima Regional Medical and Heart Center.

Williams v. Microsoft
Obtained unanimous jury verdict for Microsoft after three week trial in matter alleging gender discrimination and retaliation. (King County Sup. Ct. 2016)
Beem v. Providence Health & Services
Lead trial attorney; obtained jury verdict for Providence Health & Services in wrongful termination case involving allegations of failure to accommodate under the ADA and WLAD. The jury concluded that timeliness was an essential function of the plaintiff’s job and that she could not perform this essential function with or without accommodation. View the defense judgment. Diederich v. Providence Health & Services
Won summary judgment on all state and federal claims alleging disability and age discrimination, hostile work environment, and retaliation brought by former physician resident in family medicine program in large teaching hospital in Olympia; also obtained order limiting breach of contract damages (W.D.Wash. 2012)
Nelson v. Providence Health & Services
Won summary judgment on all claims in wrongful termination case brought by former cardiovascular technician alleging discrimination based on her medical condition of multiple sclerosis. Plaintiff claimed employer violated the FMLA, ADA, and WLAD, and engaged in retaliation under state and federal laws (W.D.Wash. 2012)
French v. Providence Regional Medical Center Everett
Obtained a full defense verdict for our client after a week-long jury trial in federal court. The case involved allegations of violations of the ADA, WLAD, FMLA, and public policy. (W.D. Wash., 2009)
