Every business is unique. Scott gets it. Strategically, he empowers clients to command the workforce for competitive edge by fostering a strong and proactive culture of employment law compliance and bolstering team agility and engagement. He partners with clients, takes time to learn what makes their business tick, and tailors workplace solutions grounded by their distinct work culture and the specific market challenges they face.
Scott has significant experience counseling and educating employers on a wide array of workplace matters. This includes transactional employment-related due diligence; strategic workforce recruitment; DEI; drafting employee handbooks, employment agreements, and restrictive covenants; employee compensation and wage-and-hour concerns; occupational health and safety; securing trade secrets; workplace investigations; employee performance management; employee requests for leave or accommodation; employee separations and defections; and mass layoffs.
And when the going gets tough, Scott gets going. As an experienced employment litigator, he fights for employers in federal and state court with an eye on creatively resolving complex class-action, multi-plaintiff, and single-plaintiff lawsuits.
Scott also represents clients before federal, state, and local government agencies on all types of public accommodations and employment-related charges. This includes before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC"), the Department of Labor ("DOL"), the Washington State Human Rights Commission ("WSHRC"), the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries and Occupational Safety and Health ("LNI" and "DOSH"), the Hawai'i Department of Labor and Industrial Relations ("DLIR"), the Hawai'i Civil Rights Commission ("HCRC"), the Seattle Civil Rights Division ("SOCR"), and the Seattle Office of Labor Standards ("OLS").
