Adam Rich is a music lawyer who represents major recording artists, publishers, and record companies in high-profile copyright matters. Adam also maintains a robust First Amendment practice, counselling and litigating on behalf of journalists and major media companies against libel, copyright, right of publicity, and trademark claims. He has successfully litigated disputes in federal and state courts across the United States and has helped secure favorable jury verdicts for his clients at trial.

Peretti v. Authentic Brands Group LLC
Achieved appellate win on behalf of Authentic Brands Group, which holds a broad portfolio of IP assets related to Elvis Presley. Heirs to a co-writer of the iconic song "I Can't Help Falling in Love With You" challenged ABG's rights to the song, which was a number one hit for both Elvis and, thirty years later, UB40. The Second Circuit affirmed dismissal, finding that the plaintiffs' purported termination of a transfer of rights did not comply with Section 203 of the Copyright Act. (22. F.4th 131 2d Cir. 2022).
Stone v. Carey, et al.
Currently defending Mariah Carey and Sony Music in copyright infringement lawsuit arising from Carey’s iconic Christmas song, "All I Want For Christmas Is You." (E.D. La. Ongoing).
AOM Music Inc. v. Ocasio, et al.
Currently defending Songs of Universal, Inc., Polygram Publishing, Inc., and EMI Blackwood Inc. in copyright infringement suit arising from the song, "Safaera," recorded by Bad Bunny. (C.D. Cal. Ongoing).
Hackett, et al. v. Interscope Records Inc.
Currently defending recording artist Shenseea and UMG Recordings, Inc. in copyright infringement lawsuit arising from the song, "Lick." (S.D.N.Y. Ongoing).

Represented music publisher These Are Songs of Pulse in copyright infringement action arising from Travis Scott hit song, "Highest In The Room." Case settled. (C.D. Cal.)

Deiuliis v. Engel, et al.
Prevailed against President and CEO of major energy company who sued the publisher of a non-profit blog, The Decolonial Atlas, over an article labeling him one of the "Top 100 People Killing The Planet." (20 Civ. 3252 (NRB), 2021 WL 4443145 (S.D.N.Y. Sept. 27, 2021)).

Won motion to dismiss on behalf of publishers Harlequin and Hannover Square Press in libel case arising from the best-selling memoir of recording artist Rick Ross, "Hurricanes." (No. 3:21-cv-24-TCB (N.D. Ga. Nov. 30, 2021)).
Manigault v. ABC Inc.
Drafted winning brief in Second Circuit appeal, affirming summary judgment favor of ABC against plaintiff who alleged that local news broadcast infringed his copyrights and trademarks. (796 F. App'x 13 (2d Cir. 2019)).
Goguen v. NYP Holdings Inc., et al
Currently defending the New York Post against libel claim asserted by the head of a venture capital fund, Michael Goguen, arising from article, "Tech billionaire allegedly kept spreadsheet of 5,000 women he had sex with." (Mont. Dist. Ct. Flathead Cty. Ongoing).
