Miriam Ricanne Swedlow
Associate
Whether in scrubs or a suit, I am first and foremost, an advocate.
Miriam Swedlow diligently champions the interests and goals of healthcare entities and providers facing threatened or actual disputes. She is a determined advocate in litigation and a practical counselor in negotiations and navigating complicated compliance questions. Miriam relies on her extensive clinical experience and considerable knowledge of the complex regulatory frameworks that apply to healthcare entities to identify pragmatic pathways for success. She works closely with clients to identify compelling and creative approaches as they navigate internal and criminal investigations, enforcement actions, or civil disputes and litigation.
Miriam's litigation experience includes defending health systems, hospitals, and individual providers in government investigations and disputes concerning state and federal laws specific to healthcare entities. This includes fraud and abuse, antitrust, EMTALA complaints, state Consumer Protection Act violations, and professional licensing. Miriam also regularly works with hospitals and health systems on medical staff matters, including credentialing, peer review, and medical staff bylaws, rules, and policies.
