Cheryl Wei is a versatile entertainment attorney, working in multiple areas of the media and entertainment industry, including film, television, digital content, podcasting, commercials, live events, and video games.
She is a trusted adviser to studios, production companies, networks, streamers, financiers and other clients in the entertainment, media, technology, and nonprofit industries, who rely on her to guide and advocate for them in all stages of entertainment transactions.
Cheryl's practice includes structuring, drafting, negotiating and advising on entertainment agreements, including development, production, financing, acquisitions, licensing, and distribution (e.g., option/purchase agreements, first look and overall agreements, shopping agreements, production services agreements, co-production agreements, talent agreements, loan and investment agreements, co-financing agreements, license agreements, and distribution agreements). She regularly handles development and production legal services, including the day-to-day management of productions for scripted, unscripted, live-action and animated projects. She also provides pre-broadcast counseling to her clients.
Cheryl is a co-founder and co-chair of Project W's "RiseTogether" initiative, which supports the elevation of women in business and legal affairs in the media and entertainment industry. She currently serves on the hiring committee for DWT's Los Angeles office and the MEPTA practice group DEI committee.
