Michael Zahn is a real estate attorney with nearly two decades of experience in the industry, having spent nearly half of that time in the private sector on the client side of real estate development and transactions. Before joining DWT, he served as associate general counsel for a privately-held $2 billion commercial real estate company, as well as was director of Investments for a publicly traded REIT. Michael prides himself on providing practical business solutions for his clients, the value of which he learned firsthand overseeing and managing outside counsel in his respective roles. He understands the business of real estate, and brings this approach to bear in his client service. Michael has served clients in hundreds of transactions, and has drafted and negotiated practically every type of real estate document required.
Michael represents clients in all aspects of real estate transactions, including drafting and negotiating letters of intent, purchase and sale agreements, and closing documents. Michael also represents leasing and tenant matters; drafts and negotiates joint-venture agreements; and assists with ancillary real estate agreements, including covenants and restrictions, licenses, easement agreements, and service contracts. His experience includes retail and residential leases, tenancy-in-common agreements, loan documents and modifications, acquisition and subdivision of property including review of title and survey, disposition of outparcels, and creation of restrictive covenants.
