SEATTLE – FEBRUARY 19, 2020 – It is mid-February and Davis Wright Tremaine has made its fourth significant lateral acquisition of the year. The firm has welcomed two of California's leading healthcare lawyers, Stacie Neroni and Hope Levy-Biehl, as partners in the national healthcare industry team. They join the firm in Los Angeles.
"Their addition advances two of the firm's strategic priorities: continuing our California expansion and building out our national healthcare team," said Ingrid Brydolf, co-chair of DWT's healthcare practice. Jason Farber, the other co-chair, added, "Stacie and Hope are outstanding lawyers who will fill critical substantive roles and lay a solid foundation for future healthcare growth in California and nationally."
Neroni and Levy-Biehl come to Davis Wright Tremaine from Nelson Hardiman where Neroni served as the firm's co-managing partner. Both lawyers, who have worked together for nearly 20 years, help healthcare providers navigate complex and sometimes esoteric regulatory issues, including those that arise in connection with mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations and bankruptcies. Neroni also brings extensive regulatory experience in the pharmacy space, with Levy-Biehl's practice focusing on the day-to-day challenges experienced by hospitals, health systems and other providers and suppliers.
"We have deep trust in the excellence of DWT's healthcare team, as well as the other parts of the firm that are critical to serving our clients," said Neroni. "When you combine that excellence with an open and supportive culture, it makes for a great place to build a successful, fulfilling practice."
"Beyond its commitment to client service, Stacie and I were attracted to DWT because of its commitment to collaboration, transparency and diversity," said Levy-Biehl. "Given that and the firm's performance over the past few years, DWT was an easy choice when deciding where to transition our practices."
At the close of 2019, DWT recorded a nearly 10% increase in gross revenue and a 7% increase in profits per partner from the previous year. The firm's results on these and other key financial metrics have outpaced most of the Am Law 100 for multiple years running.
Earlier this year, David Gossett, the former deputy general counsel to the Federal Communications Commission, joined the firm's technology industry practice in the Washington, D.C. office. Matt Diggs, a veteran federal prosecutor with broad healthcare experience, joined DWT in Seattle from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington. And a six-lawyer energy regulatory group, led by Sean Atkins, Michael Kunselman and Andrea Wolfman, added a nationally recognized FERC practice to the D.C. office.
