SEPT 13, 2021 – For the second consecutive year, Davis Wright Tremaine LLP has achieved "Mansfield Certification Plus," recognizing the firm's demonstrated commitment to elevating lawyers from under-represented minorities into positions of leadership.
Under the Mansfield Rule firms pledge to ensure that diverse lawyers make up at least 30 percent of the candidate pool for recruitment, governance roles, equity partner promotions, and inclusion in formal pitches to clients. Certification is achieved through a rigorous 12-month collaboration with Diversity Lab.

"With built-in measurement, transparency, and accountability, the Mansfield program is helping our firm move closer to that vision and we're very pleased to renew our participation in the program for the coming year."
Over the course of this past year's 12-month certification program, the percentage of new lateral partners hired at Davis Wright Tremaine who are from underrepresented minorities rose to 62%, a gain of more than a third compared to the previous year. The percentage of new lateral associates from underrepresented minorities also rose, to 82%.
Mansfield "Plus" status indicates that, in addition to meeting or exceeding the baseline certification requirements, Davis Wright Tremaine has reached at least 30 percent underrepresented lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles. For example, underrepresented minority lawyers now make up a majority of the firm's practice group leaders as well as the membership of the firm's Executive Committee, Compensation Committee, and Nominating Committee.
