Co-presenter, "Diversity and Inclusion in Coastal Big Law: the Inside Story"

In the Fall 2020 Spotlight on Talent, seven rising, diverse attorneys from Davis Wright Tremaine presented "Diversity and Inclusion in Coastal Big Law: the Inside Story", a panel discussion exploring the challenges of recognizing and dismantling discrimination within the legal industry. During this two-hour presentation, attendees learned how to implement policies to create a more equitable and inclusive environment within the legal sector through examining these topics:

  • Implicit bias
  • Increasing equity through recruitment and pipeline development
  • Coaching, retention, and promotion of diverse attorneys

Around each of the above topics, presenters offered an overview of current practices, trends, emerging approaches, and long-term diversity and inclusion strategies, and spotlight industry best practices, for both Big Law and in-house counsel, for the recruitment, retention, and advancement of diverse attorneys.
