The Davis Wright Tremaine Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion was honored to partner with the DWT Food + Beverage Industry Group for a discussion of the impacts on local and global food access. This program is part of our regular DEI Education series.
This event featured Katie Pearmine, Associate Director for Product Sourcing Partnerships at The Global Food Banking Network, who has spent many years working in strategic sourcing at the Oregon Food Bank, and now coordinates food banks around the world. Katie focuses on building resilient and equitable food systems, focused on global events.
This discussion was moderated by DWT's Alli Condra, and touched on food access terminology and its evolution, as well as the impacts of global events, including the pandemic, climate change, and wars on food access and food justice. Our speakers also discuss what individuals can do to impact food related issues in their communities and beyond.
