Bill Lowery works on the litigation team, where he supports third-party subpoena response matters. Before joining DWT, Bill was a partner at a law firm with offices in San Francisco and Washington, D.C., serving as lead counsel representing public agencies on litigation, regulatory, and transactional matters involving national cable and telecommunications companies. He later served as general counsel, corporate secretary, and senior executive advisor for KQED Inc., the public media organization operating major-market broadcast stations in Northern California.
Bill has extensive experience in litigation, particularly in telecommunications and First Amendment issues, and in managing and negotiating responses to third-party subpoenas in civil and criminal matters. He also has expertise in media production and distribution matters, particularly in analyzing, negotiating and drafting complex content licenses involving broadcast and digital distribution rights, as well as advising clients on fair use issues. He has served as first chair and second chair at trial, representing clients on intellectual property and real estate matters, and has written and argued appeals before the D.C. Circuit.
